Since being involved in Catholic schools in Queensland, I have often heard our schools referred to as 'private schools'. I am not sure how or what Catholic Primary Schools are referred to in this way. What I do know is that Holy Spirit is a Catholic Parish School in Brisbane Catholic Education. Last Sunday clearly illustrated what we are a Parish School. The wonderful celebration of our 40th Anniversary Mass, led by our Parish Priest, Fr Msami along with Fr Gasper and Fr Erico.
The involvement of our Parish Community through the Knights of the Southern Cross and support of our Parishioners. Thank you to these wonderful volunteers for donating their time to provide the food and refreshments. Thank you to our APRE, Kim Barrett-Coade and to all the staff of Holy Spirit for their efforts in making this anniversary of our school a special one. Thank you also to our parents and students for participating and giving up their time to make this day so special.
Forty years ago, the Holy Spirit Parish celebrated the realization of their vision for their children and their Parish Community. Their vision was one of having their children brought up in the Catholic Faith in a supportive Parish Community. Our challenge today is to continue to work together to nurture and support all our children and families in an educational setting underpinned by the charism of our Holy Spirit Community.
